Starting at the road head town of Jiri this trek follows the old route used by the early Everest expeditions. It passes through scattered farming settlements before turning away from the main trail and climbing up above the cultivated fields to the high point of the trek, Pikey Peak. Here an outstanding panorama awaits you with an astonishing array of himalayan giants, including the biggest of all, Mount Everest, spread across the horizon.
The trail then heads down into the homeland of the Sherpa people as it passes through traditional rural villages to finally reaching the airstrip at Phaplu from where a light aircraft will whisk you back to Kathmandu.
